Connection
Inspired by a changing neighborhood and the need for creative expression, we set out to build a space where art could foster connection and conversation.
What started as an intimate gathering soon evolved into a movement. Alongside three architects, I co-founded Rooted to break creative barriers and make artistic expression accessible to everyone. Our first sessions used collage as a medium, inviting participants to explore themes of identity, home, and belonging through hands-on storytelling. To guide the process, I designed custom card decks featuring curated imagery and thought-provoking prompts, sparking deep reflection and interaction.
As Rooted grew, we introduced new experiences, including life drawing sessions with a live model, welcoming both beginners and seasoned artists. Each event fostered a collaborative atmosphere where creativity thrived, encouraging participants to share techniques, perspectives, and ideas.
As the project’s graphic designer, I shaped a visual identity that captured the essence of each gathering—crafting branding, event materials, and digital assets that reflected the spontaneity, warmth, and authenticity of Rooted.
At its core, Rooted is about more than just making art—it’s about building a community where people can express themselves, connect with others, and rediscover the joy of creativity.
